The Down Dirty Shake is a rock n roll band based out of San Francisco and the Northern bay area. Formed in 2006 by the founding four members in their hometown of Merced, CA. The group is deeply influenced by the central valley blues and the soul that was the 60's. It's very apparent in the music that they sound very different then today’s bands. The Shake has put out two self produced albums, a self-titled in 2011 and a live album recorded at the Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol CA in early 2012. As heard on the album the boys pride themselves on the live shows, incorporating: 2 electric guitars, a bass, drums, shakers, organs, occasionally a didgeridoo and a very energetic front man. The shows are guaranteed to be an experience, always raw and unpredictable.
Down Dirty Shake's first full length record is in the final stages of production and they hope to have it out on cd and vinyl record very soon. The record will be a musical roller coaster, into the depths of psychedelic soul, all the way up to rock and roll, latin jazz, last call bar songs, movin' and shakin' and they have no plans on stopping at this one. They have been playing as much as humanly possible in the SF bay area and the north bay as of late. The Down Dirty Shake also inhabited the Milk Bar on Haight st. in SF all month of July, 2013, honing their skills and getting down into the groove.
